Welcome To SWOPs

The idea to form SWOPs came after 'bumping' into fellow painters 'out in the wild' and realising that, instead of meeting up by pure chance, why don't we meet up on a regular basis, say once a month?

For experienced painters, perhaps you don't get out of the studio (or spare bedroom in my case) as often as you would like? Then this is the perfect excuse!

Some artists, especially those new to painting, don't like to paint outside, in the public's eye, as they feel a bit uncomfortable. Painting outside as part of a group, even if they are spread out a bit, can help bolster confidence.

The only structure to this group will be the dates, times and places of the paintouts.

Other than that, you can come for the morning, the afternoon or the whole day....

We will generally meet up in the morning. Head off and choose painting spots, meet up at Lunch time and meet up again at the end of the day, at an agreed time.

Sometimes weather will dictate the duration of the time spent outside. But, generally, we will attempt to get around the weather and get some painting in.

We will always try to choose locations in which free parking is available, but this is not always possible.

Some locations may be 'off the beaten track' and entail a bit of walking but details will be given in the post detailing that particular meetup.

That's about it for the moment.

Welcome and please keep an eye out for postings of future dates and locations.
