Garston Wood

A short and sweet post this month.

Mainly due to the school holidays and family commitments, the turnout was small this month.

These are BIG woods! Very easy to get lost on the myriad of tracks that run through the woods. Also, the main tracks are not very well signposted in places...

However, the views are worth it with ancient trees planted in avenues, wide-open farmland vistas and hidden valleys.

The only (slight) negative was the Horseflies...Hordes of them in certain places, making standing still an exercise in practising your swotting skills.

No paintings today. The one small one I attempted turned out to be a scraper.. It was the kindest thing to do..

A big thanks to Paula and Tim for driving from Bournemouth, even though she wasn't feeling a 100% and wasn't painting..

Till the next time

Jim
